Lathe bed – 25 / height – 31 / width at bottom – 15. I believe this to be the 1885 Companion model. On the left side there is a small drill chuck to drill a hole. Then, there is a 4 inch diameter grinding wheel to sharpen knives. The grinding wheel is not in great shape as there is a chunk out of the side of the wheel (see picture). There is a two-step pulley for speed adjustment. The leather belt is weak and will eventually need replacement. The steady rest, although it fits nicely and works well, isn’t original to the Lathe. It runs smoothly and works well. The item “Antique TREADLE Wood LATHE by Millers Falls Co in Massachusetts Cast Iron” is in sale since Saturday, October 17, 2020.
