Monarch 10EE Tool Room Lathe
Monarch 10EE tool room Lathe. Monarch 10EE toolroom lathe with optional electric leadscrew reverse. Manufacture date 4/4/1969, serial # 50008. Excellent conditionin regards to the ways and overall function. Machine is very heavy, statedweight is 3450 lbs. This can be forklift loaded from it’s current location. It is operational and can be seen under powerat its present location. Tooling includes cam lock 3 and 4 jaw 8 Cushmanchucks. Two 11 face plates, indexmount for 3 jaw for multiple lead threading etc, various cam lock mountadapters (see pics), DRO (not currently mounted), optional tooling cabinet withcomplete set of 2J collets, Aloris tool post with 1 holder, misc collection ofdead centers and tailstock taper drill chucks. A 1972 operators manual is alsoincluded. Lathe is currently wired for220 single phase and comes with a heavy duty commercial transformer. The machine has been sitting idle for about 10 years. It does have the following four known issues. The spindle speed hunts between 1500 and 2000 rpm. I’ve been told that it is common for the tworheostats that control the spindle speed to get dust and debris in the contactsand may just need to be removed and cleaned. The spindle also has a minor oil drip, again aresult of lack of use. There is no seal on the spindle apparently, it has areverse scroll so likely there is oil gummed up in that also. I ran the lathefor one full hour and the leak slowly reduced by about half. Perhaps this willeventually subside on it’s own. Two other known minor problems is a safetyswitch on the front panel door is non functioning. It is currently bypassed inorder to operate. In order to changefrom belt drive to back gear, there is a spring loaded pin that is depressedvia a knob on the front of the machine. This does not work so to change from/toback gear the pin needs to be depressed by hand, which requires removal of theend cover. It only takes about 30 seconds to remove the cover and do this, aminor irritation. The item “Monarch 10EE Tool Room Lathe” is in sale since Monday, November 18, 2019.
