This is a lovely Hardinge face plate for a watchmakers or Jewellers lathe. The Hardinge Bros company made watchmaking tools, lathes and equipment from the turn of the 20th century. This piece dates to the early 1900’s as by the 1920’s the company moved from Chicago. The company has adapted over time and still exists to this day! This face plate is in overall good condition, with all the clamps operating as they should and no bad threads or binding. The overall size of the plate is just over 92mm and it is a very study 7mm thick. The original centering pin is included with the piece and easily operated from inside the just over 8mm collet body. There is some plating wear on some of the clamps, as seen in the pictures, but this doesn’t affect useability. It has survived well for a 100 year old tool!
