This lathe is in good working order and comprises. 40cm long bed mounted on two pedestals for maximum rigidity. The bed is in good condition. Headstock and drawbar which rotates freely and has no discernible float or play. Pump action drilling tailstock and drawbar which accepts the 8mm collets included. Cross slide which is in good condition and has barely discernable longitudinal float and none in the transverse direction. Three jaw Burnerd chuck – this has a damaged keyway (see pics) but fits well and works as expected. Toolpost with 1 cutter. I assume that the height adjustment on this toolpost would be achieved using shims – there is no built in vertical adjustment. This has a non original spacer under the lathe bed. 22 – 8mm collets – all marked Boley & Leinen or just Leinen. Overall the finish is in reasonable condition. There is some bubbling under the nickel plating and a little very light surface rust in a few places (handles etc). As can be seen from the pictures. This is cosmetic and has no impact on the use of the lathe. It would be an excellent tool for anyone involved in the restoration or repair of vintage horological timepieces or for general precision model making. Please ask if you need any further information.
