At the headstock end. The headstock is stamped Webster & Whitcomb Hard, the latter indicating that the bearings are hardened steel. The tailstock is stamped with the patent date: Oct 8, 1889. Bed, pedestal, head- and tailstocks, 3-jaw chuck stamped Jacobs Chuck, cross-slide included. Draw tube, chuck key, toolrest not included.
