For sale here is a rare walnut watchmakers lathe box for a 6 mm lathe. Regarding the sizes , it was almost for sure made by or for Lorch. This is a very large (about 42.5 x 30 x 15.5 cm) box , intended to take up three D-bed’s. The holders on the inside of the lid are intended to take up the screw head polishing discs as mentioned in Lorch catalogue nr. The key is – as mostly – missing and the case has not been polished by me. For who doesn’t know : these walnut lathe boxes were very expensive in the old days allready. The price at which this size of case was offered , was about 80% of the price of a new cross slide. A rare opportunity for the collector and user of Lorch 6 mm lathes.
