It is smooth and good working condition. The spindle turns smoothly. The on and off switch works. The original German motor is a variable speed motor with forward and reverse. It will need a new belt at some point in the future. It also has 2 3 position pulleys which can be adjusted by moving the belt to the desired pulley and adjusting the head stock to be in line with the motor pulley. Very nice smooth operational lathe. This is not a hogging machine as it is only about 14 inches wide, 17 inches from front to back and about 10 inches tall. Works off of 110 volts or your normal plug in at your house.
