Antique brass and steel watchmaker’s wheel cutting engine. Appears in good condition. Made in Austria in 1712. Engraved on the wheel is “Leopoldis Andony Millogg 1712″. Vice-held tool with a 9 index wheel, having 30 divisions numbered 48 -150 and further numbered with factors such as 7,12, and 13. Pivoted cutter frame and crank with turned wooden handle. A spare arbor hangs from the uncompleted gear.. This tool is from the Ted Crom collection. Crom’s book #2 makes reference to this engine on page 625. Crom #1 discusses German wheel cutting engines.
