It is designed to be used with a watchmaker lathe – 8mm or 6mm and will fit Geneva pattern lathes with the same bed dimensions (20mm diameter – vertical flat) e. The cross slide has no discernible play in either axis and is in good useable condition. The surface finish has some flaking and tarnish as can be seen from the pictures. There is a small chip from the bottom corner of the cross slide (see pics) but this is not normally visible and does not affect the use of the cross slide in any way. This tool would be a valuable and economic addition to the Geneva lathe of anyone involved in vintage watch repair or restoration.
