This lathe was put in storage about ten years ago when Hughs Aircraft closed down a division, It had been moved around a couple of times and when I got it the lathe did not run correctly, I replaced the C3J tube with a new old stock one and replaced one C16J with a good used one but was still having a problem with the spindle speed control module so I replaced it with a known good one and lathe runs fine now, smooth speed control and braking when spindle is switched off. This machine machine is designed to go to 4000 rpm but it will only go to 2000 rpm, I don’t know if it is because the module I put in is from a 2000 rpm machine or if the pots on the module need adjusting. Other know issues are: Taper attachment bed clamp missing, coolant pump not coming on, maybe a fuse or need cleaning out or replacement, FWD/OFF/REV switch on apron is sloppy, works but could use repair. Overall condition of lathe is pretty good, the way oiling pump works as it should and the bed ways look good. Lathe weighs 3450 lbs. And can be picked up in Hawaiian Gardens, Calif.
