Schaublin precision cross slide with extra length 6 travel compound tool rest. Obsessive compulsive “nuts and bolts” precision cleaning and reassembly. No rust or chemical discoloration. Very clean dovetails and ways. Nice tapered gibs and adjusting screws. Pristine lubrication channels and tunnels. The compound tool rest moves like silk with almost zero backlash. The cross slide moves smoothly; backlash is roughly 1/8 of one revolution. The base clamp handle is stock, but I think the right-angle clamp itself is tool-room made. This is an exceptional example of the model. I’d love to keep it, but I’m funding the next rebuild. I’ve done the heavy cleaning – it’s already very accurate and ready for precision scraping (something I think the final user/owner will prefer to do for themselves).
