Rare vintage watchmaker’s screwed polishing number 74 lathe made and signed by G. Boley, the famous German toolmaker. Referred to as a Boley Lathe, this polishing set contains a brass and steel signed lathe, 23 collets, a brass disc and a steel lap, a boxwood disc for fine polishing, lantern caps, and various chucks. The larger collets are numbered: 6, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 (one brass, one steel), 20, 22, 24, 26. Number 8 is missing. The 12 smaller ones are unnumbered. This distinctive horological set is preserved in its original, precisely fitted walnut wood case, secured by two small brass latches. This collectible mid century precision watch maker’s tool set is highly sought after, and makes a wonderful addition to any collector of vintage tools or horological items.
