The following provisions have been added. For sale; a used Hardinge HLV narrow bed tool room lathe, Serial number HLV-B 489-3. Spindle nose is a 4 degree taper. Also, I do not guarantee that said machine will perform to factory standards or specifications of accuracy. This machine was manufactured in 1954 (approximate date) and may not satisfy current or future safety and health standards, local, state or federal. The machine operates on 220 volt (nominal) 3 phase current, and should be wired by a qualified electrician. The tool post shown in the lead photo is not included, but a similar Hardinge with a hex nut for mounting is included. It is currently located in a two car garage with paved access. The machine was delivered on a roll back wrecker, on a sunny day, plan for rain, bring a tarp. I will help load, but I’m 60, and “no” a fork lift, is not available for loading. The machine is under power for testing. I have done my best to describe this item to the best of my ability. If you have any questions please ask. If you need any additional information or photos, please ask. He asked about it’s history. It was a Govt. Machine bought through GovLiquidation. Com, and I showed him some before pictures of it’s rough life. The machine had sustained some damage to the carriage, which is shown in the new added photo. I fixed the damage, which is shown in the previously posted photos. So with this gentleman’s good advise, I have added this information in the interest of full disclosure. The second new photo shows a new cross slide bearing casting, leadscrew and nut. I never tried to “fit them up”, because I never intended to use them. The repair is “solid” and looks/works good. The bearing casting is a direct fit, however, later HLV’s (ie HLV-BK) used different gears in the apron, so the leadscrew and nut may not work without modification to the gear. I have no idea what vintage this leadscrew and nut is. The item “Hardinge HLV Tool Room Lathe” is in sale since Wednesday, August 31, 2016.
